Little Smiles and Scowls

A new baby is like the beginning of all things-wonder, hope, a dream of possibilities.

A baby will make love stronger, days shorter, nights longer, bank balance smaller, home happier, clothes dirty, the past forgotten, and the future worth living for.

Sydnee’s Favourite Spot

Sydnee’s favourite sleeping position and sleeping spot! 😀

When I tried to let her sleep like this, she kinda liked it. Lately, she’s been restless and her sleeping habit has changed a lot. She’s easily awaken by mild sounds and conversations. She has short period of sleep in between hours during the day. When I thought of putting her to sleep on my chest, she could sleep well then.

Love Heart Hand

First of firsts

“Babies always cry!” is what I often hear from many mothers. They tell me that this will be my first problem when having a baby. So I braced myself for this piece of information when I came home from the hospital with a newborn in my arms. I would surely go crazy when my little girl cries all the time and I don’t know how to calm her especially at night. But I think it’s ok for babies to cry. That’s what they do to communicate to adults or mothers of what they feel or need in the moment.

She had to be fed every two hours therefore it’s only natural for her to wake up, makes a cute whimper for milk if not for a new diaper because she’s wet or has pooped! Sometimes, the room is too cool or hot for her so she makes a short cry and that is all!

I think a baby’s cry is just a first sign that there’s gonna be a happy home in the long run. It’s not a problem that needs to be fixed; it’s a normal happening  that needs understanding and diligence when there’s a growing angel in the house. It is a fact that having a newborn is demanding and it would surely make one crazy without help, so every new mother must get a help and support from the family and husband. I am glad I already have a very supportive husband, family and friends. Yet I still had a very exhausting week to attend to my baby’s needs as well as to heal my wound from my C-section operation- I had a placenta previa hence the operation. The thought of having a baby, house cleaning, laundry, grocery, work was exhausting enough but I’ve managed to work on the most important thing – baby and my recovery.

So far, having a baby is not easy in the house. I may have a weary body but my baby has given me a happy heart. She’s such a precious one!
